Road construction is no longer imaginable without asphalt. Hansa-Nord-Labor has comprehensive expertise and years of experience with this building material. This is evidenced by our patent for HAKO^®, an innovative asphalt developed by the Hansa-Nord-Labor GmbH.

The following are the services offered by the Hansa-Nord-Labor asphalt department

• Check tests, additional inspections and arbitration tests
  Our team of experts works for public and private customers and draws upon experiences from a myriad of contracts.
• Asphalt suitability tests
  On behalf of mix manufacturers we test the application-oriented suitability of asphalt and optimize asphalt technological qualities such as stability, material fatigue, and low-temperature performance in view of the desired range of use.
• Examination of decking and surfaces
  We examine road surfaces and pavement structures by means of visual procedures and measuring techniques. This includes determining and evaluating surface qualities, such as grip and evenness.
• Identification of material properties
  The material properties have to be known exactly for redevelopment proposals and predictions regarding the remaining useful life of pavements. We identify them and thereby enable reliable planning by our clients.
• Bitumen tests
  Bitumen has a great variety of applications. We examine road bitumen, polymer-modified bitumen, bitumen emulsions, and sealing compounds.
• Additional testing areas
  This includes tests of layer adhesion according to Leutner, polishing value according to Wehner/Schulze, and the measurement of layer thicknesses with electromagnetic methods. With the help of qualitative and quantitative processes we further demonstrate properties typical for tar and pitch ingredients.
